Charlie Brown

by Charlie Brown

I'm Charlie Brown. People have called me by many names - good ol' Charlie Brown, wishy-washy, a blockhead, Brownie Charles, "Chuck" - not to mention my real name, Charles Brown. But I prefer Charlie Brown - it's what my close friends - Linus etc. call me. I've never been able to kick a football - Lucy or Violet usually pull it away from me, or I miss the ball altogether. I am the manager of the gang's baseball team (Snoopy, my beagle, plays shortstop). Only once, in 1993, I hit the winning home run in a baseball game. On another occasion, the first time I was in camp, Linus sent me a postcard to tell me my team had won. We also won the first game of the season on the 9th April, 1973, when ReRun was batting, at ball four. I also like flying kites. Unfortunately, they are often caught by kite-eating trees, or they get thrown down the sewer, or on some occasions, they have even been known to have acrophobia.
Here is a good quote of mine on my life in general:
"Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, 'is life a multiple choice test or is it a true or false test?' Then a voice comes out of the dark, and says: 'We hate to tell you this, but life is a thousand word essay.'"
